Every Wednesday have-a-go carving with Val Quinn 10am - 12pm still incredible value at £20 pp inc use of tools and stone.
Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd November Free-form carving with Jonathan Sells
Our monthly 2 day class, we still have a couple of spaces available £50pp a day

Saturday September 14th and Sunday September 15th Burngate Autumn Fair: Opening times 10am - 4.30pm.
There will be Exhibitions of stone works and local arts and crafts for sale. Stone carving demonstrations, have-a-go stone carving sessions, a working forge and spinning. The tearoom will be open serving refreshments including our homemade Dorset Apple cake and Purbeck Ice Cream. We look forward to seeing you!

New Centre Opening Hours this Autumn
The Centre will be open the following hours this Autumn -
Monday to Friday: 10.30am - 2.30pm
We have a wide range of local art and craft for sale, gallery of sculpture and small tearoom open daily. We also have stone craving courses scheduled, you can find out more information from our website or phone the Centre.
Weekend opening will depend on courses running over the Autumn.

Summer holiday activities for all the family
We have got something for all the family this Summer at Burngate Stone Carving Centre.
Children's have-a-go carving on Tuesdays - 10-12pm or 2-4pm
£12.50 per child. Age 6-13years
Adult have-a-go carving on Wednesdays - 10-12pm or 1-3pm
2 hour session £20 pp (14yrs+)
3 hour session £30 pp (14yrs+)
Family have-a-go carving on Thursdays - 10-12pm or 2-4pm
Mixed groups - adults and children. £20 per adult and £12.50 per child
Booking is essential - please phone the centre to book your place on 01929 439405. Please note we need a minimum of 4 people per session to run the course.

Basic Drawing skills course with Di Quinn
Join artist Di Quinn for a new weekly course at Burngate this year.
Multi media mark making (drawing) with locally found, organic materials.
Basic drawing kit supplied (i.e paper, wax crayons, charcoal) and drawing boards/easels provided. You are welcome to bring your own art supplies.
Refreshments are included - tea/coffee and biscuits
Friday, 10am to 1pm. £21 per session (5% discount if you book 4 sessions or more)

New Sewing classes at Burngate
Do you fancy learning how to sew and using a sewing machine - learn how to make things for yourself, the home, as gifts or just for fun.
Ros Sunley runs weekly sewing workshops at the Centre for beginners on Wednesdays between 7pm & 9pm. £50 per person for 5 sessions.
New for 2013 are afternoon sessions on a Wednesday, 1pm - 3pm. £50 per person for 5 sessions.

The Centre offers a wide range of stone carving courses for all the family and all levels of experience. You don't have to be artist to try your hand at the traditional craft and will be amazed at what you can achieve in just a few hours.
We continue to expand the wide range of art and craft courses at the Centre - Printmaking, 3d Wire & Sculpture, Skills of the sculptor, Rag-rug cushion, Sewing and needlecraft, Basic drawing skills and Painting. If you would like to find out more or even teach your own course at the Centre, please contact us.

Can't find a course time or date to suit your holiday plans?
If you can't find a course date or time to suit you or your family this Summer holiday, contact us to arrange your own course that fits in with your holiday plans (or even the weather!).
We can arrange 2 hour, 3 hour or full day carving sessions for you, your family or group, subject to tutor availablity. Please give us a call to discuss options and pricing.
Do something different this Summer and try your hand at traditional stone carving in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset.

Exhibition & gallery space available
Burngate Stone Carving Centre in the Isle of Purbeck is open all year and it's unique workshop space is ideal for exhibitions, gallery space and meetings. The main workshop has a woodburner and kitchen facilities are on site and available to use for any event.
The space can be hired all year - special rates for art and craft exhibitions.

Burngate Stone Carving Centre - Tearoom
Burngate has a new tearoom for this year and offers traditional Dorset Apple Cake, cream teas (subject to availability), hot and cold drinks and a wide range of snacks.
Come and visit us at the Centre and enjoy a cream tea whilst taking in the outstanding views of the Jurassic coast.
The tearoom is open daily between 10am and 2pm during the week (sometimes a little later if the weather is nice!) and 10am - 4pm at the weekends.
The Centre also has a range of local, homemade chutneys and marmalades on offer. Or you can browse our exhibition of sculpture and other local art and craft - including art, ceramics, wool and textiles.
